What is a chase card in Pokémon TCG?
A chase card is the card collectors most want to pull from a set. In modern Pokémon TCG sets that usually means special illustration rares, hyper rares and other full or alternate art cards, which are printed in much smaller numbers.

Rarity names you will see
- Illustration rare: full artwork cards showing the Pokémon in a scene
- Special illustration rare: full art cards, often of popular Pokémon or trainers, among the hardest to pull
- Hyper rare: gold etched cards at the top of the set's numbering
Why chase cards hold value
They are scarce, they look amazing, and collectors want them in their binders. Popularity of the Pokémon on the card and the artist both play a big part.
Buying a chase card instead of opening packs
Opening packs is fun, but if you want one specific card, buying the single is almost always cheaper than chasing it in packs. That is exactly what our raw chase card range is for.
